Vom 3. Juli bis 3. August 2002 war der grüne Europapolitiker Michael Cramer (seinerzeit Sprecher für Verkehr der Grünen Fraktion im Berliner Abgeordnetenhaus) als Fellow des German Marshall Fund in den USA unterwegs. Er kam mit Vertretern von Umwelt- und Verkehrsinitiativen, der politischen Administration und auch mit Politikern unterschiedlicher Couleur zusammen.

Santa Catalina Island, California
us-infos.de: Ca. 50 km vor der Küste Kaliforniens liegt die Santa Catalina-Insel mit ihrer kleinen Hauptstadt Avalon. Die Insel, sie befindet sich in Privatbesitz, ist ein beliebtes Tagesausflugsziel für den Großraum Los Angeles. Hier ist vieles anders, eher unamerikanisch. Auf der Insel gibt es keinen privaten Autoverkehr.
